6
The government will impose a ban on gasoline exports from Russia for its producers starting April 1, 2026. This was reported by two sources from "Vedomosti," familiar with the outcomes of the meeting held on March 27 with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, which was later confirmed by the government press service. One of the informants specified that the ban will remain in effect until July 31, 2026.
In the cabinet's announcement, it was noted that Novak tasked the Ministry of Energy with preparing a draft regulation to prohibit gasoline exports starting April 1, 2026, aimed at stabilizing prices and ensuring priority supply to the domestic market. At the meeting, oil companies confirmed the availability of sufficient gasoline and diesel fuel reserves, as well as high production capacity at refineries to meet domestic demand, according to the statement.
